Q: What is EAP?
A: EAP stands for Employee Assistance Program. As the name indicates,
EAP is a comprehensive problem solving resource for the workplace and
for the employees/family members. An EAP is a highly sophisticated human
resource program, with multiple delivery strategies, requiring specialized
expertise. It is a resource that helps management respond to employees
who have personal or family issues that are affecting work performance.
Q: Why Would An Employer Benefit from an EAP?
A: Operating a business involves risk. Many of these risks are related
to employees with workplace and personal problems. Effective management
of employees with workplace and personal problems is imperative, and failure
to do so can be costly. Claremont creates tailored programs to manage
employees with workplace and personal problems, providing expert consultation
when they arise. Such liabilities include:
Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Co-Worker Conflicts
Employee Personal Problems
Violence in the Workplace
Sexual and Racial Harassment
Accidents
Ineffective Management Techniques
Q: Is this a national service?
A: Yes. Claremont Behavioral Services is able to provide services to clients
nationally through Claremont Partners. Claremont Partners has sought out
and successfully contracted with the best, most workplace-oriented regional
EAPs in the United States and Canada. Claremont Partners unites these
EAPs into one seamless organization. International services are also offered.
Q: What does it mean on the Benefit Summary, "clients may use one visit/consultation
per issue?"
A: Clients may use a service as many times per contract year provided
that each use is for a different problem. For example, a client may
call and access his/her legal benefit for assistance with a family law
question. On that same day, a client could call Claremont and request
another legal referral for help with understanding one rights after a
fire destroyed his/her apartment. Each service is independent of the other,
meaning that a client may receive counseling because he/she is considering
filing for divorce and receive a legal referral regarding how to file
for divorce.
Q: How quickly can Claremont produce a quotation or proposal?
A: Claremont is able to provide pricing or quote information almost immediately
over the phone and may also provide information via email and/or regular
mail. Claremont is available to provide proposal material for sales meetings
and we ask that brokers and consultants give us a few days notice to prepare
these packages.
Q: What is Claremont's rating formula?
A: An anticipated utilization factor of 8-10% is used in calculating the
proposed rate. Claremont has worked with a wide variety of employer groups,
and adjusts projected utilization based on past experience with that type
of employee population. Rates may be determined on a per employee/per
month basis or a monthly flat rate.
Q: What is the commission rate for brokers?
A: Claremont compensates brokers with a standard five percent (5%) commission
for groups up to 1,000 lives. This amount is derived from the whole premium.
In some cases, commission arrangements will vary.
Q: Are Claremont representatives available to attend sales meetings?
A: Yes, Claremont's account management team is available to attend sales
meetings in order to provide a comprehensive, clear overview of Claremont's
programs.
Q: Does Claremont provide references?
A: Yes. Claremont will provide a reference list upon request. We are able
to tailor reference lists to reflect a variety of characteristics. Please
let us know if you would like a list, which includes specific industries,
group size, geographic location, etc.
